Cell Phone Policy
Mobile Phone

Technical devices are not always appropriate and can be a distraction to learning. In the working
world, many professions do not allow the use of personal devices. Since the classroom is preparation
for the real world, devices are not permitted, except if you have asked the teacher to use the device as
a tool related to class which will be indicated by a sign on the board. All devices should be silenced at
all times. NO talking or texting is allowed during class time. (If you need to talk or text in an
emergency, explain your situation to me, and I will send you to an appropriate place to use your
phone.) Each student will have the use of a classroom Chromebook, so
devices are not generally needed. Note: Any unauthorized use of your
device is considered cheating and you may receive a zero as well as
be subject to the school’s cheating policy. Also, any recording, or
picture taking, while in class will be considered a violation of the
school’s social media policies. YOU WILL BE REPORTED TO SECURITY!!
If you are seen with any device:

1. You will be asked to put it away and lose 5 weekly participation points. Three warnings in any
given semester will ensure parent contact. A fourth will result in a referral.
2. A second warning in a single day, and you will be required to place your device in a box on your
desk for the remainder of the class. Refusal will be considered insubordination.

NOTE: Boxes are always available if you would like one to practice self-control!!!
